February For Family (2/3)
Back in July I introduced you to the Jackovich family. I recorded a TWP Conversations episode with my good friend Jason. You can listen and watch it here. The “Jackos” (as I call them) are super special people that we are so grateful God brought into our lives. Friendship is important. In The Four Loves, C.S. Lewis wrote these words;
“Friendship…is born at the moment when one man says to another, ‘What! You too? I thought that no one but myself…”
Today on February For Family, the daughters and I talk friends and friendship. We see that Jesus offers us the privilege to be his true friend, and in turn charges us to express love to others in authentic friendship! “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born in adversity.” (Proverbs 17:17)
Call, text, email, or visit with a friend today! Love well family!
Todays Scripture: John 15:12-17
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other.
