Every Morning

O Lord, hear me as I pray; pay attention to my groaning.
Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for I pray to no one but you.
Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord.
Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.
{Psalm 5:1-3}

The morning is yours! The morning is ours!

Yesterday I had the opportunity to spend the day on campus with Olive and her 5th grade classes. It was a spectacular day! I do have a few things to note: 5th grade math is harder than I remember. Every class has its class clown, and goodness they are funny. Lunch and P.E. are still my favorite subjects. Lastly, teachers work hard! I am married to a teacher, and I sometimes forget how selfless and tirelessly these women and men give of themselves! Shout out to the teachers!

Thank you, teachers!

One of Olive’s teachers and I share a love for both running and climbing. We regularly root for each other while trying hard on our projects at the climbing gym. Sr. Juarez handed me a book while in class yesterday. Said it is a must read. He handed me “Born To Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen”

I had a chance to start reading yesterday during our library time. I abruptly came to a stop when I got to page 13 and found this quote by the famed runner, Sir Roger Bannister:

“It doesn’t matter whether you’re a lion or a gazelle - when the sun comes up, you’d better be running.”

Pastor, it is your turn!
Ready. Set. Go!

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us RUN with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. {Hebrews 12:1-3}
