But David said to Saul, “Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it. Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.” Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you.” {1 Samuel 17:34-37}
Don’t throw me out with the trash, or fail to breathe holiness in me. Bring me back from gray exile, put a fresh wind in my sails! Give me a job teaching rebels your ways so the lost can find their way home.
{Psalm 51:13 MSG}
If you asked me to try and articulate the meaning behind TWP’s new logo, I would use the two scriptures above. As pastors, you and I have been found by and led by The True Shepherd (Jesus) who then calls us to become like him. A strong shepherd!
When you see this logo may you be encouraged and inspired to take up your call to serve, teach, lead, and guide people to Jesus!
