Three Years!
Tomorrow is February 3rd! Aside from a Texas “winter weather advisory”, the day should be a normal Thursday for most. February 3rd is a milestone day for me and my family. Tomorrow marks three years since my testicular cancer discovery. The day will forever be a vivid reminder that while life is fragile (easily broken, shattered, or damaged; brittle; frail) we can find strength and sure footing looking to and standing on Jesus!
Early on in my cancer journey this quote from John Piper shook me;
“Cancer does not win if you die. It wins if you fail to cherish Christ.”
Thats honest and so raw. Cancer hurts and is so confusing. Yet, I have learned that I can waste my cancer. I will waste my cancer if I don’t “fix my eyes on Jesus”. I will waste my cancer if I don’t love my wife, daughters, and family like Jesus “first loved me”. I will waste my cancer if I don’t get up and “run the race marked for me”.
So in honor of three years will you RUN with me?! If not run, then get up, out, and MOVE with me!
Tomorrow, at some point in the day I challenge you to run, walk, jog, bike, row or even climb 3 MILES!
3 miles for 3 years!
Do it with your spouse, kids, neighbors, coworkers, classmates!
My goal, hope, and prayer is to share love, hope, life, and Jesus! I choose not to waste my cancer! Thank you to all who has journeyed with me, Hannah, and the daughters! We press on because God gave us you and your family! To many more years and miles!
Peace and Love fam!
