Nine things you need to know about the history of the observance

Stay warm TWP family! I am grateful that you regularly take time to listen in with us. May God use this time to strength, and grow us! You are not alone as your face struggles and trials of many kinds! These struggles may be unexpected, yet we have the opportunity to, in joy, grow with determination through hope and trust in God. Cry out to God today and seek help and assistance from the people He has placed around you!

Have a Thankful Thursday! (as Ella expressed)

TODAYS SCRIPTURE READING: James 1:2-5

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

FREDRICK DOUGLAS QUOTE: August 3, 1857, Frederick Douglass delivered a “West India Emancipation” speech at Canandaigua, New York

“If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will.”
