MAY I Ask Four Questions?

Hello and happy May!
For the next 31 days, I encourage us to ask and seek guidance for these four questions:

  • Who do I want to be?

  • What type of person should I become?

  • Who am I now, and am I happy with who that person is?

  • What am I living for?

I pray that for the month of May, we will be reminded of who we are in Jesus and allow Him to continue to mold and shape us daily. In his book A Short Guide to Spiritual Disciplines: How to Become a Healthy Christian, Mason King quotes Klyne R. Snodgrass;

Discipleship to Jesus is the continual surrender of all life to God’s good design for identity, belonging, and purpose. (Page 15)

Before we know who to become, we must know what story we live in. (page 16)

“Do Not Be Misled”

Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.

Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.  Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

(Joshua 1:6-9)

At times life can be challenging to navigate. Yet with our eyes fixed forward on Jesus, we see the calling is clear; lead ourselves and others to HIM! But it takes God’s strength, God’s courage, and His Word. That is where we will sit and rest this month. His Word will lead us, guide us, teach us, and inspire us.
